In this video from The Cotard Syndicate, phantom limb syndrome is used as a metaphor for examining the brain’s ability to rewire itself based on the imaginings and re-imaginings of our severed relationship to nature and the natural world. We are exploring the role of neuro-plasticity as it pertains to the malleability of the senses and how they are easily influenced by external stimuli and how corporate culture leverages and exploits these vulnerabilities in order to get us to purchase and consume goods that purport to bring us closer to nature and the natural world.
